My signal is misbehaving again so I'm going to see if I can post mainly photos this time, and not too many of them. Just enough to show how beautiful this part of Alaska is. Above is a low tide view looking out of our little inlet at Clarence Strait, part of the famed Inside Passage. The islands across from us (we're on the mainland) are lit by sunshine peeking through relentless bad weather. Note the dormant volcanoes to the left. At this time of the year it pours down rain, so hard that the creeks are beaten into foam. There is nothing quite like going for a walk at night in the wilderness knowing that you are the only human being for miles around and the moon is your only companion.

Thank you, Sis. It took a few tries to get it to post. I forgot to mention that in the top picture you can see a heron standing on the top of the rocks on the left of the entrance to our inlet. And it's blowing so hard you can see the snow being blown off the mountaintops.
